What Did You Read in February?

not so much. I only read

Without You - Anthony Rapp
Bag of Bones - Stephen King
Zombie - Joyce Carol Oates
Santa Evita - Tomas Eloy Martinez

I feel like I didn't read much at all. Getting through the Stephen King was a bit of a challenge.

I'll join in, I guess. I'd love to be part of the statistics. ;)

I read
  • Northern Lights (Philip Pullman)
  • The Supernaturalist (Eoin Colfer)
  • A Confederacy of Dunces (John Kennedy Toole)
  • De doden zijn niet dood (Els De Temmerman)
  • Beauty (Sheri S. Tepper)
  • Vernon God Little (DBC Pierre)
  • Zonder genade (Renate Dorrestein)

I'm still reading
  • Nooit meer slapen (Willem Frederik Hermans)
  • Politiek geweld is een keuze. Een essay over genocide met een toepassing op Rwanda (Philip Verwimp)

Read:
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
Dracula by Bram Stoker
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
The Curious Incident of a Dog in the Night by Mark Haddon
Iceberg by Clive Cussler
Raise the Titanic by Clive Cussler

Still reading:
Ghostwritten by David Mitchell

Ugh - I'm ashamed to say that I only read 3 books in February, and one of those I started in January.

The Novice - Trudi Canavan
Jurassic Park - Michael Crichton
Small Island - Andrea Levy

I'm currently reading The Blind Assassin.

Don't be ashamed. There are some people that don't read 3 books in a lifetime. I only read 3 in Feb but I really enjoyed them all. I am a slow reader but that doesn't curb my enthusiasm for reading. :)

-Lord of the Flies by William Golding
-Eldest by Christopher Paolini

Well, Ferbruary's a short month. Hopefully, things will pick up.

Yeah, really. I'm a slooowww reader but I generally remember every word (at least for a bit, in the editorial habit). In Feb I read

The Wind-up Bird Chronicle. 600 pages, so it took a while.
Who Walk in Darkness by Chandler Brossard
Some Ulysses.
Some Bright Lights, Big City.
Every LIttle Crook and Nanny by Evan Hunter

In February I finally finished up A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth. Woot. It was so slow, I couldn't take it anywhere because of sheer size.
I celebrated by reading in soft cover, A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. Next was A Confederacy of Dunces author I can't remember. On my stack now are the two Claudius books by Robert Graves, I've nearly finished Claudius, the God, not yet read the other. The rest of the stack consists of A Son of the Circus, John Irving and Baudolino by Umberto Eco.

Unfortunately, no erudition from me... I just read them and run.

I finished: A Very Long Engagement by Japrisot

I read: In the Skin of a Lion by Ondaatje and
Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre

I started: The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov - I know this is supposed to be great, but I'm finding it kind of tedious...struggling to stay interested.

I'm currently going through a lucky phase, where I'm finding books I want to read as fast as I can read them. I go for long periods where I can't find anything I like to read, then sometimes I get lucky. I think my lucky phase is slowing down, could be that in April I'll have read only a couple of books. And I only count the books I actually finished, not the ones I started and couldn't get into. :)

Finished in February:

'Killer Swell' by Jeff Shelby
'The Turtle Warrior' by Mary Ellis
'The Two Minute Rule' by Robert Crais
'Flashback' by Gary Braver
'Bad Move' by Linwood Barclay
'Solomon Vs. Lord' by Paul Levine
'In the Country of the Young' by Lisa Carey

I had a slow month reading-wise, but that was mainly because I picked several novels I did not like or could not get into.

Emily of New Moon - L.M. Montgomery
Firebirds - Sharyn November
Cloud Nine - ah, can't think of the author right now
Last Summer at Bluefish Cove - same problem (bad day)
The Birth of Venus - Sarah Dunant
The Golden Compass - Phillip Pullman
Good Omens - Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
Rockabound - Frank Parker-Day

I started:
Wideacre - Philippa Gregory (Too weird)
True Believer - Nicholas Sparks (couldn't get into it)
Sandstorm - James Rollins (normally like his books, didn't feel it with this one)

I am still reading Kushiel's Dart - Jacqueline Carey. Great novel, but I haven't had the time.

I read:

The Republic - Plato
Death and Trial of Socrates - Plato
The Pelopopnesian War - Thucydides
A Kiss of Shadows - Laurell K. Hamilton
The Politics - Aristotle

All books for class except the LKH one  .

Tracey Emin - Strangeland
Wayne Macauley - Blueprings for a barbed wire canoe. (school book)
Joseph Conrad - Heart of Darkness (school book).

I only read one short book that wasnt a school one. I have no time to read more books! I have read blueprints three times...does that count?

Lani

Besides still reading Dostojevsky I have read 3 books in february.

Hundehoved by Mortens Ramsland (Danish author)
Zahir by Paulo Coelho
Veronika decides to die by Paulo Coelho

I have just checked my book list and to find out what I had actually read in february got me looking at the list to see just how many books I read per month. 3 books seems to what I manage besides reading Dostojevsky.

Now reading Dostojevsky and Paul Auster

Flower

I have read:

The Widow of the South
Encyclopedia Idiotica
The Kite Runner
Sundown Towns

I will finish Fahrenheit 451 today.... does that get to count?

Sheesh, the lists that some of you have is just amazing. I guess I'm a slow reader.
