AK! I refuse to enter into silly debates :p Let's talk about badgers and penguins.

did you know that there is a new movie called madagascar coming out with chris rock and ben stiller and jada pinkett smith as the voice talent of zoo animals who escape for something better. and in the trailer there is a few scenes with penguins who are, how shall i say, a bit ocean's 11. very funny stuff. now i confess i am ignorant to this whole penguin genre you got going on, but i am forever changed because of the constant references to them, from yourself and others on the forum. i always think of you whenever i see one, from now until eternity.

is this something i should be concerned about?

You should be very concerned at either the menace of the penguins to all mankind or my insanity!

well if we are talking real penguins, like the kind found in icey continents, then yes your insanity is of great concern to me. it will keep me awake, i foresee many a sleepless night in my future.

if penguins are some kind of code word like google spider that i have to look up on the webopedia, then you and mankind are on your own. :D

Are you thinking, for some reason, that you'd get qualified answers from people????

I think I might trust the birds more.

You guy's need to find a happy medium. Where I live I am no more than two hours drive from the beach, the mountains, New York City, and Washington D.C.

What profession has lead you to live in such solitary places? Why do you live where you do?

i played russian roulette!! i had no influence on the place where i am now!!
and normally i life 20 minutes away from berlin and i love this city, and since i'm pretty much away from home i love it even more, everything, the people, the rhythm of the city, the whole thing, okay except the governtment that is still crap, but still better than other ones!! :D
yeah the birds are sometime pretty good, but if you need somebody who brings you back to the ground or tells you to **** off, therefore are the birds not qualified!! and sometimes you just need that!! or at least i do!! :D

take a guess? and if you please, tell me why you chose the answer you pick?

And yes, you may ask... :)

my guess would be negative, but anything is not adding!!
hmm...why?? you think a lot of stuff is crap and in the whole!!

honeydevil, I think I'll shall keep you guessing for a while, maybe somebody else will want to add their 2 cents...

I miss being a college kid. No REAL responsibilities. Staying out late or all night. Meeting new people. Playing in bands.

I miss Costa Rica.

I miss sketching. College seems to have killed that instinct in me.

I agree with Wabbit. Big cities suck. I live in town of ~20,000. That's just about right. Rolling countryside is just minutes away. Plus, you have some degree of anonymity, but it's not so busy that I feel paranoid, like in New Orleans or Memphis! Ugh.

I understand your reasons for liking the big city Geenh. Sorry that people have to be so human. We sometimes can't get past what we see, well, at least what we THINK we see. After reading Albert Ellis, I realized that irrational thoughts abound. Getting past the thoughts is harder than recognizing them though.

hey i don't think that other people want to know... :D (sorry, couldn't help it)
just tell me, i'm not even sure why i want to know!!

I do realise that but after being used to the big city mentality (and not having a problem with it, mind you), it's hard to get comfortable with the small town mentality. I get stared at all the time, followed in shops as if I am going to lift something, asked silly questions (I am NOT Maori! I don't have a NZ accent), etc.

My friends say "Shit, G, we forget you look/sound like you do. That's why they're my friends. By and large, I spend most of my time outdoors rubbing my face in case they're staring at whatever has accidently adhered itself to my face (it's never been because of that yet!).

I am out of here when my daughter gets out of school! I'll get paid better and stared at less.

for Honeydevil

Honeydevil, since you asked again, I am a positive person, and in general, a happy person. I am rarely in a “bad” mood. I feel life is too short for that. I don’t carry grudges, and I get along with an extremely broad range of people. As I posted in a previous thread I love playing the devils advocate. I love to engage in discussion and debate and I have no problems taking the less popular side for the sake of the argument. Unfortunately I am not as smart as I’d like to be, and sometimes my posts do not do a great job of connecting with the point I’m trying to make. But that doesn’t stop me from trying, and hopefully I’ll get better. Novella’s sure keeping me on my toes and making me think quite often. :)

I’m not sure what you refer to when you state that I think a lot of things are crap. I try to have as much fun as I possibly can. I find a lot of things in life fascinating, and I like to think about things from different angles. Many of the members here offer those different viewpoints. That’s why I like the General Chat area best.

I also think the best way to fully understand your own thoughts and belief’s is to question them. I try not to have blind faith in anything.

Now that you know, has anything changed?

moto i figured you for positive. i picture you as the puck of the book forum(not a mickey rooney puck mind you, he is way annoying) i've often laughed when reading your post's thinking haha little bugger's changed his pov just to stir things up.
