what exactly is a peep? I'm assuming it has something to do with American's peeping in at UK websites?
I thought the term "peeps" is quite wide-spread? I'm not British myself (obviously), but I noticed that it has come up in more than one conversation I had with someone from the US.Originally posted by Dave B
It's from a Brit TV comedian/comedy actor called Harry Enfield who specialises in short sketches type shows some of which became full length shows/films e.g. the teenage 'Kevin'. A few years ago when he first became popular, he created a Greek fast food vendor character call Stavros who called people 'peeps' in the collective sense (e.g. "listen to me, all you peeps out there"). The term 'peeps' became a popular modern colloquialism for a few years.
I'm absolutely addicted to those! It's just such a shame that they cost so much... They do get boring if you overdo it, and if you can't afford new ones, that's pretty horrible.Originally posted by TownBear
