What to read next

Hi there,
As I am hopeless at choosing which book to read next, I thought I would ask you which one of the following you would read if you had the choice.
Ash, A Secret History - Mary Gentle or A Game of Thrones - George RR Martin

I'd go for A Game Of Thrones!

Sounds like a difficult choice. I've only read A Game of Thrones, but I have Ash: A Secret History on my to read pile.
A Game of Thrones is excellent epic fantasy, but it's the start of a long, uncompleted series and it's not quite at Martin's best, but it's quite easy to read and shouldn't take long to finish. Ash though is completed, and from what I've heard, it's very good. Tough choice - go for Martin, so that you can regain hope in the epic fantasy subgenre.

I vote A Game of Thrones but I haven't read the competition so it could be a better book for all I know.

I like both quite a bit, but I'd say A Game of Thrones. Really no wrong choiec which is a enviable position to be in.
