Which Was the Last Book You Read in One Sitting?

I'm a King fan as well and find that most of his stories have a mediocre destination, but the trip there is fascinating and incredible.
 
The Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas, just couldn't put it down. I reckon that isn't actually the last, but it stands out because I started it at night, finished at 6:30AM....that was a long day at work:lol:

I got on a Louis L'amour kick a few years back, most of his books are one sit reads. Great pocket novels for whenever you have a few minutes.
 
Just last week -- The Slaves of Solitude by Patrick Hamilton. Usually my one-sitting books are thrillers, or the shorter Stephen King books. Slaves was different -- there's no plot to speak of, just character observation, but it was very compelling.

I read them one day after the other while we were at the beach.
I dont like the beach. lol
 
I left Anna sitting on the kitchen counter and was kicking myself when I realized what I had done about halfway to the beach. So, the hubby took me to a book store on the way and let me pick up a few books to read at the beach. I managed to read Some Like it Wicked (what a great and easy beach read) by Teresa Medeiros and Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris. Each of these took me one day by the pool or on the beach.
 
Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic by Alison Bechdel. This was a couple years ago and I probably shouldn't even count it - as it was a graphic novel and therefore fairly short - but I just vividly remember finishing it and being like, "How did that happen?" I am a pretty slow reader so I tried to convince myself that this was quite the accomplishment. :)
 
I read Prince Caspian by Lewis in one sitting because we were reading it for a book club. And The Host/I] by Meyer was pretty close.
 
I read of mice and men in one sitting was only about 200 pages and i had to read it to pass my exam sooo yah.
 
I read The Catcher in the Rye and The Quiet American in the same sitting during a 12 hour flight from Japan to San Francisco.

I can not sleep on planes :(
 
I read the first book of the Spiderwick Chronicles in one sitting...then, several days later read the other 4 books in one sitting. I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in one day, but managed to fit in a small nap, so its not quite technically one sitting.
 
That's a good question. I don't think I have done that since I was a teenager.

Disturbing.

Got me thinking... I think I read something on an overseas flight not too long ago...

one sitting... hmmm... I don't think I have that many uninterrupted hours in one sitting.
Those were the good old days...
 
I almost got through JMG Le Clezio's Terra Amata in one sitting before being interrupted with 30 pages to go. Before that, the last one was Maarten 't Hart's Het Psalmenoproer. It pretty much takes a long bus or train ride for me to stay completely focused on one book that long.
