Who are you leaning towards?

Well, I was born in Cincinnati (who knows where that is!) and I have voted and can vote and intend to vote again this time.

McCain is as dangerous as George Bush in my opinion. It would be a third Bush term.

I was originally a John Edwards supporter, but liked all the major candidates. (In 2004 I favored Howard Dean, which shows you my political stripes.) Hillary and Bill have really worn me out with their shrill "he can't win" campaign. Obama can do a great job if the Democrats get behind him.

And, no, he is not a muslim - not that it should matter.

There was an email sent round accusing him of being an atheist too, which is apparently even worse than being Muslim. I don't like any of them, but if I had to choose I'd go with the atheist Muslim just to piss off the idiots running the hate campaigns. What ever happened to winning on your own merits? Anyhoo, with a choice of right wing candidate, right wing candidate or right wing candidate I'm glad it's not my problem.

I think that died sometime after WWII if not before.

Thomas Frank wrote a book about this. It's called What's the Matter with Kansas? How Conservatives Won the Heart of America and is a sobering look at American politics today.

My vote would be for Obama, but really any candidate would be better than George W. Bush. I can’t believe this man was voted in for a second term.

Excellent point! That is why a ticket with both Hillary and Obama would be the "perfect storm" for the hate campaign mongers. A woman!?.....a (gasp!) black man!?......:D Seriously though, she has to be the VP or he won't win the "Reagan democrat" white-non-college-degree vote.

Did anybody see the West Virginia Primary?

Race and gender is playing a role like it or not, people are not going to "say "I am voting for Hillary because Obama is African American.

If McCain didn't have those ideas of war he would peobably win election, since he is not a woman or an African American.

72% don't want her to stop running.
(I have more stats, I will write them down later)

I knew that was going to happen. If it was going to happen anywhere, it would have been West Virginia.

I saw some interesting numbers this morning:

38% of Democrats Want Clinton to Drop Out
29% of Democrats say she should run an Independent campaign (IMO those people haven't thought things all the way through)

Obama.

I'm tired of this attempted "war on terrorism." It's embedded in the radical spectrum of a fraction of Muslims. And if history has taught us anything, it has taught us you cannot wage a war on religion. It's a lost cause. Some people truly believe all homosexuals and people who do not object to homosexuality are going to hell. But an attack on American soil by a select group of people harnesses a much greater magnitude of press coverage and rebuttal. Apparently, in the mind of ole George, jingoism overrides previous "musings" of other presidents like Monroe and Washington, who took measures to advocate isolationism. So if anything this election, the Republicans are going to get the cold shoulder vote-wise and the Democrats will sweep in for a victory. Bush and Hoover have a lot of similarities... and hopefully Obama and FDR will as well.

Sorry.. I haven't ranted about the subject in a while.

Obama.

Sorry.. I haven't ranted about the subject in a while.

Thats why we are having a discussion, so we can rant in a mature manner.

I am tired also of we are going to war because of terrorism. We try to fix other peoples problems when we have so many of our own.

Is Edwards going to help him by backing him up?

I'll cast my vote for McCain. He's a little moderate, but he's the best choice.

If it had to be between Hillary and Obama then I'd pick Obama. He's never accomplished anything in his political career and he's not likely to if he moves into the oval office. I believe the word for it is Harmless.

Hillary would put all her efforts into turning the US into a socialist, which is something I'm against.

I don't record these things but I'm sure if you could find it if you looked. If you can't find it, then you don't need to look any further then what she proposes to change.

I can certainly find a lot of quotes from people saying that she's a socialist. I can't find any quotes from her saying that she's a socialist. Apparently she isn't that open about it.

But if you can find a quote of hers where she says she's in favour of collective ownership of the means of production throughout American society, feel free to post it.

It's rare, but it has come up. I looked for a few minutes but I can't find it, either. I'll keep looking when I get time, but in the mean time take a close look at her policies.

One thing I can say about her is that what you see is what you get.

If you want socialist policies then she's your gal.

I don't care who you vote for, but I would rather that people took the time to make an informed decision.
