Who knows Perry Rhodan?

It is the most popular SF-series in Germany since 50 years, and has the biggest circulation worldwide (over one billion dime novels sold). Some books of the Perry Rhodan series have been translated into English. Does anybody of you read them?

I've heard rumors of a 2000 volume German series with a cult following, but I had no idea any of them had been translated into English.
