William Gibson: Spook Country

Spook Country was a bit of a disappointment and I read somewhere that the author very almost admits so himself (will have to dig that one out) Apparently he was up against the clock on this one and it shows.

For me Pattern Recognition - the first book he wrote in this 'present day sci-fi trilogy', was awesome. It was written in such a fresh, modern (post modern) style it made me want to pick up pen and become a writer myself. Lucky for you I didn't. But I die-gres... Spook Country didn't grip, had a shaky plot and was pretty easily forgotten about. I haven't read History Zero yet but hope it gets back to Pattern Recognition's incredibly modern style.
