Winston Churchill

As a terribly ethnocentric American I know so little about this very important man. Very embarrasing . Whenever I hear a little blurb I always say "I have got to read about this amazing man" I know there are many biographys to choose from. I just don't want a poorly written and dry read to ruin his story for me. So if you've got a recommendation for a Churchill biography that's accurate AND well written please share.

I have a biography by Geoffrey Best and it was a very interesting read. I'm not an expert so I cant say whether there were any inaccuracies, but in my opinion the book is well written and enjoyable.

William Manchester's The Last Lion is considered definitive and a classic. It's a series of two books, going to 1940, with a third expected to make a trilogy. Manchester is very old now, and he's enlisted the aid of a coauthor for the third book in the series, but the first two have been out for years and are excellent.
