Unless you're me and actually DO have a crush on the guy at the book store. Haha.

Yup. Gotta know what book a stranger is reading.
I once saw a lady on a train reading one of my favourite books so I went up to her and said 'Best book ever! Where are you up to?' So looked at me, blinked, and turned straight back to her book. Quite rude, actually.

I love this post!!

Lani

She wouldn't talk about the book? Are you sure she wasn't an alien:eek:
Really, most readers would be thrilled that someone was interested in the book they're reading. I'm usually so happy to find a fellow book lover, I don't mind the interruption. Her loss...

When you see a perfect stranger reading a book in a public place, and you make a fool out of yourself trying to see what it is.

(I just know that I'm going to get myself arrested someday.)

I do this, and I feel dirty.

I buy purses based on whether they will accomodate at least a paperback book.

I went out to buy a pair of Gloves, and came back with a New Book!:D
And very cold Hands

yeah, but you got the book..what are cold hands compared to that;) You can always sit on one of your hands to warm it up, then trade so you only have one cold hand at a time....

Ahh, just leave your hands out, after the numbness and early stages of fristbite, you dont' even notice your hands anymore.......though page turning becomes a pain after awhile.;)

Me too. I always used to look, but never ask people what they thought of the book because I'm a tad shy, but now I'll ask them if the book is something that I really want to read. Usually people are more than happy to talk about the book, so I'm becoming more comfortable in asking them.

When someone talks about an important part of a book you haven't read, but is on you "to-be-read" list you run out of the room screaming.
...or...you follow that person home. The next day rent a room near where they live, and stake them out for a few days - get a feel for their routine. Take some notes. Maybe hire a video camera. The important thing is to be sure you can pick just the right time to break in (without leaving any visible traces and without anyone seeing) and then lie in wait for that person to return, safe in the knowledge - thanks to your observations - that they will be alone.
Once on the premises, go to your hiding place: this will be somewhere you can easily get out of once the person has come back home and fallen asleep. You will know just the place: the plans obtained from the local council will have been a great help in this.
Once the person is asleep, prepare your chloroform, and then pounce. Once the person is out cold, retrieve your plyers and scalpel from your pockets. Grip the tongue firmly with the plyers, and cut out the persons tongue. This may need several attempts.

This person will never spoil a plot in your presence again.

"When you do a report for school you get sidetracked reading the encyclopedia.

When caught without a book you read the ingrediants list on your twinkie.

You know that if you work it right you can fit an average size paperback novel in your pants pocket.

You have maxed out your library card."

hahah those DEFINATLY apply to me. especally the encyclopedia and the pants one.. 10th grade i figured out how to fit my english books in my back pocket and in the side pocket in my leather jacket

Reminds me of the legend of Johnny Appleseed and how his Bible stopped a bullet that would have killed him..In your case, your books did double duty..cheap kevlar;)
