Last night-Read the final fifty pages of The House of Seven Gables and just loved it. Read the first fifity pages of Maestro by Bob Woodward.

How about you? :flowers:

I read aloud a chapter from one of the Encyclopedia Brown books to my younger boys. When my 16 yr old son came home from his forensics tournament last night I had one of those moments a mom lives for. Daniel was supposed to do just one performance last night, but at the last minute, his forensics teacher asked him to fill in a slot for prose as well. He had one class period to find his piece, and he spotted a familiar story, Meanwhile, Back At the Ranch. He forgot til he was almost to the tournament site, that he needed to write and memorize a short introduction, so he whipped that out in about 10 minutes, ran through his performance twice, and took third place. The judges loved his presentation and commented on how well prepared his piece was, saying he'd obviously taken time to do a good job... What they didn't know is how many times this child has had this book read to him. Now, I never used 12 different voices when I read, but I like to think I can read this book in a fun way..I think I'll ask Daniel to read it to me this weekend.

Book activity?
jesus.

We don't have a religion section, I would advise(or is it advize?) you to perhaps post that under the "mature discussion" section bro.

It's like betwin "recently finished" and "Where are you"?

Yeah, it is what it is.

Still advertizing for MOTO

Yep, advertizing for Moto.:whistling:

So, what did you read? Or are you going to continue to thread jack?

I was too busy watching the Canada v. Slovakia hockey game last night to read. And I didn't even make it through the third period. However, I did read about 20 pages at lunch of "Three Dollars" by Elliott Perlman.

oh but what a quick mind you got there and such a sense of humour.
Hi hi hi.

C'est vraie que je fait des fautes d'ortographe, mais la publicité flagrante m'exaspère.
Or just for you, true i misspell often but i find flagrant publicity distastefull.

So, what did you read? Or are you going to continue to thread jack?
As i wrote in the more imaginative thread "where are you" which, a least, require more writing effort than "belly buttonly" and flat descrition of you "activities" (motions !). I'm listening to Bolano audio book,2666, while working,so about 6 hours, them in the evening read a bit of the Yacoubian building by Alaa El Asawany after diner and before bed.

And i don't jack thread as you so elegantly phrase it, i just give my opinion about threads that more or less already exist in another forms.
And to really clarify, it is only my opinion, not a statement and we don't have to all think aike.

Oh bro :flowers: sound cool doesn,t it, yo

:innocent:

Read seventy pages of Maestro by Bob Woodward. I'm now up to the part where he is continuing to serve at the Fed under Clinton.

oh but what a quick mind you got there and such a sense of humour.
Hi hi hi.

I know, I get it from your encouragingly positive, and equally profound sense of humor in making a theological quip. Certainly if someone objected to your reference, they would more than over look their own private feelings of insult and see the humor in your post and laugh hard as well, and in the moment, delete their PM to a moderator.

Oh yes, "I'm robbing a bank and the cops are on their way" just eats bandwidth like a monster.:whistling:

Harrrrgg , i'm done.
First an undercover threat of moderation from a guy trying to grab menbers from BaR to moto with his discrete banner.
and them pure archive work from the "Where are you" thread.
Sur can't be always imaginative but somehow i love this thread, make me travel sometime.

I'm eating a turkey ham and cheese sandwitch reading 4 pages of yacubian Building....

You're so right, lunch is deadly for books, greasy thumbs mark, mustarde, ...you nam it.

Don't ask, don't tell is perfect in this situation:lol:

Harrrrgg , i'm done.

It required an announcement? When most folks are done, they just walk away, they don't make announcements in a "look at me!" fashion. "I'm leaving now, bye!, I'm leaving!, hey people!, I'm going!" Thanks for it though, I wouldn't be able to tell if you were done if you hadn't posted about it.

I'm an atheist, so there is no threat (from me at least) that your offensive post would warrant moderator attention. Sharing your viewpoint is one thing, doing so in an offensive way is quite another.

I'm "stealing" members from the forum? I must have missed the notice of that in the membership agreement. Could you point out the specific part where "advertizing" another board in your signature is prohibited? Could it possibly be that most people here are members of more than one board? We aren't talking about marriage here you know.

and them pure archive work from the "Where are you" thread.

This part makes absolutely no sense. I believe you mean to say: "....and then pore over the archive work from the "Where are you?" thread."

If that is what you mean, I completely made up that instance. If I am wrong, please post the specific link and provide the post # from which I took that specific instance of the bank robbery item.

I was unfair, i'm warming up to this thread.

I just used a Clive Cussler to stabelize a piece of wobbly furniture.
Nice.

I will be finish The Turn of the Screw while listening to tsunami warning siren's. I don't live in an evacuation zone so we are fine but they are pretty much closing down the island and telling people to stay put unless you are in a danger zone. Good opportunity to stay home, do nothing and read. The power will probably go out so not much else to do after that.

If I get through that book I'll be starting Water for Elephants.

The Turn of the Screw is a deceptively thin book. The writing is so formal that it really is slow going. I was expecting a one day read but it certainly isn't.
