Post your faves! Here's mine in no particular order:

The Big Lebowski
Fight Club
The Lover
Miller's Crossing
The Rapture
Carried Away
The Silence of the Lambs
Strange Days
Trainspotting
Unforgiven

Memento;
The Pianist;
Kill Bill;
Pulp Fiction;
The Shawshank Redemption;
Goodfellas;
My Cousin Vinnie;
Schindler's List;
Ed Wood;
Bitter Moon

I spent 5 minuts writing this list. If I spent hours, it might change a little. No matter, these were way up there, in my book. Some I only saw on VHS or DVD. The last on the list is not that well known - but it is really a mind-blowing movie by Roman Polanski.

I'm not sure I can think of 10, and I'm also not certain they're all from the 90s, but here's my list:

The Usual Suspects
Reversal of Fortune
Hunt for Red October
Unforgiven
The Madness of King George
Henry V

possibly:
Saving Private Ryan (if only Ed Burns wasn't in it, he's such a whining turd)
Falling Down (just on concept alone it's great)
Life is Beautiful
Il Postino
Mediteraneo
Shakespeare in Love (for cleverness)
Apollo 13
Brassed Off

Well, guess I've exceed my quotient, but the second list are just possibles.

Off the top of my head

L.A. Confidential
Pulp Fiction
Princess Mononoke
Being John Malkovich
Goodfellas
Rushmore
The Insider
Legend of Drunken Master
Fargo
Dark City

From the ones I remember;
1)Pulp Fiction
2)Raise the red lantern (I think this was in the 90s)
3)To Live
4)Usual Suspects
5) Jurassic Park :eek:
6)Schindlers list
7)Terminator 2
8) Out of sight
9)Goodfellas
10)L'Appartement

EDIT: Okay having just read Novellas list, I want to add Life is Beautiful in there somewhere. And maybe Like Water for Chocolate too, and finally erm...Army of Darkness :p

Reaaaallityyyy Biiiittesss!!!

also:

Can't Hardly Wait
The Matrix
The Sixth Sense
Toy Story
The Castle

err.. that's all off the extreme top of my head.

PS these are chosen as per my viewing choices in the 90s, not what I think of them now. Although these are all still pretty good...

Such a hard choice.... This is in no particular order, and I know I'll have missed out something important...

Princess Mononoke
Fight Club
Edward Scissorhands
The Virgin Suicides
Trainspotting
10 Things I Hate About You
Tank Girl
Mulan
Hilary and Jackie
Toys

While making this list I discovered most of my favourite movies were made in 2001, so didn't count. :p

In no particular order:
Interview With the Vampire

Boys Don't Cry

Silence of the Lambs

There's Something About Mary

The Matrix

Sleepy Hollow

Elizabeth

Batman Returns

The Crow

Swimming With Sharks

I'm sure there are more that should be on this list and some movies that should be taken out.

The Shawshank Redemption
Saving Private Ryan
The Sixth Sense
Fargo
Grumpy Old Men
Ghost
American Beauty
Benny and Joon
Groundhog Day
Good Will Hunting

This is a tricky one. 10 off the top:

Braindead
Your mother ate my DOG!
Dead Man
- Who are you travelin' with?
- Uhm... Nobody.
Army Of Darkness
Good... bad... I'm the guy with the gun.
Ice Storm
The only big fight we've had in years is about whether to go back into couples therapy.
Lost Highway
- I like to remember things my own way.
- What do you mean by that?
- How I remember them. Not necessarily the way they happened.
Pulp Fiction
Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?
Unforgiven
That's right. I've killed women and children. I've killed just about everything that walks or crawls at one time or another, and I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you did to Ned.
Barton Fink
I'm a writer, you monsters! I create! I create for a living! I'm a creator! I am a creator! THIS is my uniform!
Se7en
What's in the box?
Natural Born Killers
How sexy am I now, huh? Flirty boy! How sexy am I now?

Jesus Christ, that's a lot of dead people. Haven't watched "Fight Club" in years, I have a feeling it would be in there if I had. As is the case with "Goodfellas", "The Player", "Grosse Pointe Blank" and a couple more. And since I thought I'd limit each director to one movie, I had to scratch "Big Lebowsky", "Fargo", "Hudsucker Proxy", "Night On Earth", "Ghost Dog", "Wild At Heart"... geez, I put way too much thought into this. At least there's no Tom Hanks or Kevin Costner on the list (I think).

Here's mine (in no order).

01. Ever After
02. Empire Records
03. Hackers
04. 10 Things I Hate About You
05. Fight Club
06. Disney's Beauty and the Beast
07. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
08. Batman Returns
09. Sleepless in Seattle
10. My Cousin Vinny

This was a little hard... I kept thinking of movies that came out in the mid to late 80s. Haha.

Kill Bill part 1 came out in late 2003 and part 2 followed it in 2004.
