I quite agree, Sparky. I have the content for a book I want to publish (and need to find the time to do so) that is very niche. It's a historical collection pertaining to one particular, very small region in Pennsylvania. Not many would buy it b/c the market is so small; but I want to put it out...
I've read all of the Bronte books and loved every one. The Professor was one of my favorites, but I think the best-loved is Villette.

I prefer a tablet because then I can load apps to read all types of files. If you have a reader you are stuck. Right? I have Kindle, iBooks, Nook, Kobo and a few other lesser-known apps on both my iphone and tablet. Plus, I can do other things on my tablet. It's like a mini computer. And it was...

The big publishing houses are over-crowded with submissions. Some good stuff gets passed by...
I'm a Cornwell fan. She actually worked in the field of forensics before becoming and author. She also researches her subjects thoroughly. For an authentic forensic experience, I strongly recommend her.
I'll second this recommendation. If you like forensics, you'll love Scarpetta. Cornwell actually worked in the forensics lab in Virginia. She has first-hand knowledge of this field.
The best person to promote a book is the author. Yes, you can spend lots of money hiring a publicist, but readers want to hear from the author. When you read a good book, you make a connection with that author. While it may not be every writer's cup of tea, it is an obligation for every serious...
Richard,
Send me your manuscript, if you like, and I'll take a look at it. I'm a small publisher in the U.S. interested in U.S. rights for previously published authors. (email removed for your security please send a pm instead)
