    The Passenger

I have a lot of work to do in writing third person. I wanted to have the reader to see most of the story from the POV of the vampire, without knowing he is a vampire, and switch to the POV of the passenger/victim just at the end. Mostly I think I am trying to squeeze too much in less than 2000...

    The Passenger

Actually just a quick generic description...just happens to be synonymous with Cash. I plan to fix this and other items as well...I do not like the names Jerry and Scott. I wrote this pretty quickly, it still needs work. Mainly what I was working on here was writing in third person...

I apologize for the length. Here is the rest… --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “You put a bullet in my Cayman’s skull back in your ‘ride.’”...

I realize this has been done a million times, so nothing new here. Just having a little fun. Criticism and comments are requested...I need all that I can get. Be constructive if possible...

    The Sopranos

This show is the only reason I have kept HBO in my cable package. Seasons 1, 2 & 3 to me the best! I have all seasons on DVD and watched multiple times. How many of you would like to see the return of the Russian Interior Decorator? It probably wont happen, but would bring up a huge...

    Current Trends: Yea or nay?

That is literally what you get with "A Million Little Pieces". I think if the narrator of a memoir is unreliable, I tend to not care for his/her story at all. I do like the unreliable narrator concept in fiction. It adds a dynamic for the reader; for instance Poe's a tale tale...

    Do you own an iPod?

No Ipod, I have an Mp3 player I have had for about three years I use for running/hiking. It was really expensive when it first came out...but I love it and use it almost every day.

    idea/setting -> story

If the shorter stuff is coming natural to you stick with it...if the bigger story is still in you it will come out, if you keep working at it. And besides, the more you write the easier it will be to keep writing. It is said that it takes a person a thousand hours to become proficient in...

    Shirley Jackson

I agree, but I believe The Lottery is read by more people and taught by more teachers/professors simply because its brilliance and brevity is the reason it is part of many literature texts.

    New Author: The Unleaver

Used in the right context this is a good part of characterization. The boy could be from a polite and proper upbringing and actually respects his mum, which I have seen a lack of in the kids of America, or if the boy is not usually polite this could be a clue that something is amiss. You are...

    Text Adventures

I was stuck at the same spot!!! Are text adventures pretty common in the UK? I have not heard of them until I read this post.

    Nature Literature

Have you read Walden by Henry David Thoreau? Also Hemingway has some good short stories based in nature...my favorite is The Big Hearted River 1 & 2...this is part of his Nick Adams stories. I went through a phase in high school where I read a lot of Edward Abbey. In one book, I think it was...
