I have a lot of work to do in writing third person. I wanted to have the reader to see most of the story from the POV of the vampire, without knowing he is a vampire, and switch to the POV of the passenger/victim just at the end. Mostly I think I am trying to squeeze too much in less than 2000...
Actually just a quick generic description...just happens to be synonymous with Cash. I plan to fix this and other items as well...I do not like the names Jerry and Scott. I wrote this pretty quickly, it still needs work.
Mainly what I was working on here was writing in third person...

Thanks, great site!
It is hard to believe I have not been exposed to Inform before, programming used to be a hobby of mine and many of my friends are programmers.
Used in the right context this is a good part of characterization. The boy could be from a polite and proper upbringing and actually respects his mum, which I have seen a lack of in the kids of America, or if the boy is not usually polite this could be a clue that something is amiss. You are...
Have you read Walden by Henry David Thoreau? Also Hemingway has some good short stories based in nature...my favorite is The Big Hearted River 1 & 2...this is part of his Nick Adams stories.
I went through a phase in high school where I read a lot of Edward Abbey. In one book, I think it was...
