I think that one of the problems with the lower leagues is that they just fill skates to get under a salary cap. But overall, I still enjoy the game no matter the level.

Just wondering what it is about the East Coast games that you didn't like? Goons, rules, officiating?
Our town has been in the UHL for the last 5-6 years, but before that we were in the IHL, comparable to the AHL, for nearly 50.

There's no way I was going to let this thread slide in to oblivion. It wasn't that long ago that Ell & I were (about) the ones here discussing hockey.
Add me to the list of those overjoyed! Though it will be a different product than we're used to, even with the rule changes I can't wait...
One of these days I'm going to buy my birthday mate a drink. ;)
Though I can appreciate the talent it takes for a writer to hold ones interest in the other style.

I have no idea if she has or not, Wabbit. And to me it doesn't matter. I have nowhere near the experience of reading fantasy that you do and for maybe that reason, I can look at and enjoy the works without comparing them to others.
Again, I've not read anywhere near what you have in the...
I'm reading 3 at the present time. A co-worker talked me in to reading my first Clive Cussler book, The Treasure.
I'm keeping it at work for breaks.

Sorry Francesca. It's not me.
The other day I finished The Third Secret by Steve Berry. It's a suspense novel that takes place in The Vatican.

This week I've bought the hardbacks of:
The Worm Ouroboros- by E.R. Eddison
The Historian (an autographed copy)- by Elizabeth Kostova
The Romanov Prophecy-by Steve Berry
The Darkness That Comes Before, and Warrior Prophet- both by R. Scott Bakker

They're on my "one of these days" list. The 3 books that make up the Liveship Traders trilogy are Ship of Magic, Mad Ship, and Ship of Destiny.
From what I gather, they take place in the same world as the Farseer books but with different characters. I have them on my shelf, but wanting to...
Thanks for pointing that out. I was unaware of his death.
I've seen him a number of times on PBS and always thought he would be an interesting author to read. I'll have to check out his works one of thses days.

No, no he isn't. He's become one of those "Mod" people. He took a cheese grater to his square peg just so he could fit into their round hole.
Welcome back, Dele!

My heart goes out to those effected by this atrocity. I'm unable to express the range of emotions I've felt today. And as much as I try to understand the twisted logic of those responsible for these tragedies, all I can think of are the children that will be raised (now) with seething hatred...
I've been in one, off and on (mostly on) for going on 4 years.
If I didn't believe in myself first, it wouldn't have lasted this long.
You can PM me if you'd like to discuss it further.
