Books are like people right? Sometimes you may get put off by them at first meeting, and then they grow on you.
I remember struggling intensely with Richard Ford's "Lay of the Land" and almost chucked it a few times. I had to get about 200 pages in before it really took hold of me. I am so...
That's from the EPA so I don't think the author was probably allowed to actually express an opinion. But, yeah, the guy who's heat just got turned off in January thinks something like, " Global warming?? I wish it would gloabal warm up in here!"
The EPA web site says things like this : Past Climate Change | Science | Climate Change | U.S. EPA
To the layman (me) reading this, it does sort of look like the climate on this planet periodically changes. This doesn't seem to be something particularly new, and I think that perception is...
Or how could you believe in neither for that matter? Just speculation at best.
Kind of a pointless argument. The people that believe have no factual evidence and that's okay because they don't need any to support their beliefs. The people who don't believe feel that way because they don't...
Man, and I thought that code was burned into my brain. Well it's been like 20 years or something like that since I last got those unlimited lives...
Sweet memories.....

I know, a dumb action/revenge movie, but...... It wasn't anywhere near as bad as I expected. Pretty Straightforward plot: The rock and his brother are victims of a double cross and are both killed. Only the Rock somehow lives, and after spending ten years in the joint, gets out...
Ken Bailey is the author and it really is pretty interesting. I would also strongly recommend David Stern's Torah and New Testament commentaries if anyone is interested in hearing how the people who wrote the Bible interpret it. That is, rather than the interpretations of a bunch of late comer...
 You two (spark & BG) make me smile. If either one of you leave this forum I'm quitting too.
Anyway back to the thread, there is also a really great book called "Jesus Through Middle-Eastern Eyes" that, while it doesn't really offer a boatload of alternative history of Jesus, makes some...
This looks interesting. Especially the last part. I thought that Paul (Saul) was pretty well known even prior to his change of belief, having studied under a member of the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem named Gamaliel.
No more SO. But I had one for a long time and pretty much did whatever, whenever. Hey...... maybe that's why I don't have one anymore..... never thought about that......... :whistling:
Ip Man :stars3: (for what it was)
Here is a modern kung fu movie that reminded me so much of the ones i watched when i was a kid that I am required to give it three stars. Horrible english voice over (and horrible voices), plot designed totally as a vehicle to get you to the next fight...
