Need some suggestions to get myself into reading

A really light mystery series that's quick and easy to read would be the Spellman series by Lisa Lutz. (mystery) I like Tim Downs' Bug man series (mystery). There's always the classics like Poirot's casebook, Agatha Christie's works, or Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. J.A. Jance does some pretty decent...

looking for a good book (or 10) to read

Do you like fantasy books? YA? Which sort of sci fi aren't you interested in? Is there any type you are? I love sci fi, but there are some types of sci fi that I don't like. What's typically categorized as "hard" sci fi doesn't really appeal to me. However, something that's more about the...

:stars5: The Stones Cry Out by Sibella Giorello. I love the narrator's character voice. It's a quick, easy mystery read about an FBI agent who needs to figure out how two guys fell off a building.

    Howdy

Hey, welcome. I read more than one book at a time too. It's fine. I have no problem keeping them straight. Often they're in different genres, like a star wars book (sci fi), a thriller, and a christian mystery.

    Hello

Rambling is fine. 30K is a novella, but that's cool. My "newest" story is about 39K. In general, science fiction and fantasy novels tend to be a little longer. I have 3 that are unpublished as yet and they're about 100K.

okay, so in terms of being a hero, what makes Alex Rider a hero? What character qualities make him (or her....yeah, I really don't know this character) stand out as a good guy in your mind. bravery? selflessness? smarts? Compare to Odysseus, what made him a hero? He wasn't perfect, but if he's...
