They all were good,it was mostly in relation with the title.More an ecological statement,with or without us does not really matter(unless the dubious "we desapear so suddenly their is not time to switch of thing...")
The part about Istanbul is scarry.I heard a few times those catastrophic...
First i will blame BG for his too good summary of the book.You really make it sound very appealing and so maybe i was expecting too much.
My main critic is that it is more a ecological statement of our world today(which is obviously the base of any pronostic) than a real projection of what might...
I'm contemplating a world without humain,nature slowly taking back and cleaning up the place.Very interesting and sobering.

I liked The Informer(less,less than zero ).
Specialy the story fo the vampyre who hate drug in the blood he sucks(a very bad thing in LA).
I though it was the best of Ellis,it actually show he could write different things if he wishes.
But Unfortunatly he does not,or lost it.
In New York,I have been receiving 1000 dollars check every month for 7 years from unknown source.Everyone of them cleared.Taxe free.
And Now i know why.....

and i'm looking forward to your review of it.I must say that i still have vivid memories of the book.Time is one of the best adviser on the quality of writing and Out stealing horses still stands out with strong and original images,atmospheres and characteres(specialy the father).

The crusades through Arabian eyes by Amin Maalouf is non fiction but read very much like a novel.(i read it close to ten times !)
He also wrote Samarkand ,about the same period with also a good deal about the secte of the assassin and the old man of the mountain.Excellent too.
