My husband and I watched Stranger Than Fiction this last weekend. We were both kind of expecting the typical Will Ferrell movie, but it exceeded expectations. My husband didn't really like it at first because it was a little abstract, but I really enjoyed it.
Did anyone else like this movie?
It was $3.19 a few days ago, but we're at $3.09 now. I work from home, so that really cuts down on the cost, and my husband is only a few miles from work.
I'm excited for the finale as well, but I agree that it seems we're going to be denied the satisfaction we deserve! There are so many things that need to wrapped up and I just don't see it happening in just one more book. I guess we'll see...
I love that movie! Just be aware that the book is a little different from the movie - longer and more complex.
I hope you enjoy the book! I think I'm going to go watch that movie...
I just finished the first two books in a series by Joanne Bertin that includes intelligent horses as some of the main characters. They don't exactly talk, but they're great characters. If you're interested, the first one is The Last Dragonlord followed by Dragon and Phoenix. Were-dragons are...
Reading through this thread I've realized that I actually don't read a lot of female authors... I'll have to look into some of these authors ya'll have listed.
My favorites include Jane Austen, Melanie Rawn, Ursula Le Guin, and Emily Bronte. I'm reading Mercedes Lackey right now and really...
I got my husband to watch the first couple episodes of Drive with me. I'm a big Firefly fan so I was curious. We missed this last one, but I was monderately intrigued. Enough that I'll keep watching it if they don't cancel it. Definitely some interesting characters.
I have often thought I should write something down when reading a book, but being so fresh out of college I'm still enjoying the freedom to just read. Occasionally I'll take notes on a book I read about writing or something like that, but for the most part I like to get lost in the words.
I acutally liked the movie. It was really different from the book, which I knew going in, so I tried to separate what I knew of the book from what I was about to watch. I enjoyed the movie a lot more that way.
As an adaptation, the movie wasn't very good. But as a totally different thing...
I liked The Da Vinci Code more as a movie than as a book. When I read it, I felt like Brown had written it knowing it would be adapted to film.
I also liked Angels and Demons better than TDVC, too, so maybe the movie will turn out ok. I must say, I absolutely love Tom Hanks, so I'm planning...
The last movie I saw was Happy Feet. I enjoyed it because the penguins were cute, the music fun, and the tap dancing entertaining. My husband, on the other hand, hated it for the choppy plot, flagrant propaganda, and incoherent storyline. What can I say... I'm easily entertained.
I just got married a few months ago, so I don't know how many books we have collectively. Some of my books are still at my parent's house and since we only have one bookshelf so far, a lot of the ones with me are still in boxes. My husband has slightly different taste than me, so there are a...
