If i'm bying a book i will always go through every copy until i find the one in the best condition, Usually right at the back.
Also get rid of books that smell of smoke after i've lent them out. (Got a thing about smoking)

Does anybody have any quirks, habits or superstitions to do with reading or books
A Few of mine.........
Before reading a word the very first thing i do is ALWAYS check how many pages long the book is (superstition)
Always wash covers of second hand books, even use spray disinfectant...
Don't think you will be dissapointed, it was the first one i read of his, not knowing anything about it or the Author, just took a chance on it. I now want to read more.

No one famous for me, although I was given a signed autobiograhy 'A Dysfunctional Youth' by Eric Goulden AKA 'Wreckless Eric' from the Punk Rock days who i met through a friend. I've had quite a few...
I do tend to read book reviews in magazines and newspaper supplements. Anything that takes my interest I make a note of and check it out online or go to my nearest bookstore and browse the cover and read a few pages.
I also go by friends and workmates recommendations and not forgetting book forums.
Just finished 'Tuesdays with Morrie'. by Mitch Albom. It was a short book, read it in a day (could of read it in a couple of hours)
Didn't enjoy it as much as 'The 5 people you meet in heaven' but it's still a good sad story with touches of humour along the way. Worth a read.
