I checked all of the boxes because I read for all those reasons and more. I read because reading is a part of me. My soul is wrapped up in books. I read for the warm glow the experience of a really good book will give me. It's hard to express in words... I tell people I read for enjoyment...
That sounds like something I read when I was a teenager or tween.... maybe something by Christopher Pike? Not any of the Remember Me books, or The Season of Passage (which was my favorite). Maybe Bury Me Deep?

I too thought this book was amazing, and it affected me deeply. One thing I will say is that it helps to read Nabokov, Steinbeck, Miller, and the other authors/works before reading this book, because you will appreciate it more fully that way.
