I have to agree with you here. Fantasy is one of my favourite genres but if the names are too obscure then I generally don't enjoy the book as much. I find the pronunciation gets in the way of the flow of the novel.
I remember reading them all when I was younger, though I must say my favourite book written by Leitch was The Black Loch.
There was a discussion a couple of years ago on the Jinny series, though unfortunately most of the participants have left now, but you may wish to have a read anyway :)...
I like the top two, it is always interesting seeing an artist's impression of a character you have read about. It is never normally how you picture them to be.
Welcome :) I also enjoy the fantasy genre, the best I have read in the last couple of years have been George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series.
Hi,
You are doing nothing wrong, the time limit for editing posts is set at 15 minutes. This is ample time for people to go back and correct spelling/grammar errors and change the text if necessary.
We used to allow post editing to occur at any point, however we had several problems with...

I was suprised however that it made the front page of CNN's...
Sometimes the individual authors (if they are alive) will list the books they are reading on their website - I know George R. R. Martin does.
I agree that it can be interesting to see which books influenced a particular writer. I haven't actually come across anything like the Lovecraft book...
So surely, this begs the question as to why the CPO's were sent out if they weren't trained to handle such situations?
From the various descriptions, it appears that the 'pond' was in fact the size of a football pitch, murky and over 6ft deep.
If you are into short stories, then Turtledove compiled a book entitled: The Best Time Travel Stories of the 20th Century. It contains stories from Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury and Ursula Le Guin amongst others.
I've never heard of most of these and don't often play board games, however when we do then some of the ones we play with friends are Trivial Pursuit, Taboo, Articulate and Scattergories.
With regards to books on King Arthur, Bernard Cornwell has written a good trilogy which are collectively known as The Arthur Books (The Winter King, Enemy of God and Excalibur). You might want to check these out :)
