I too profess to playing the 2nd edition of the game. What you missed out on phil by just playing the computer RPGS was the cameraderie around the table, the pointless discussions, the paper and food fights etc - wait that's what you've got here ;)

lol :D

Yes, the many hours of pointless debate! ( arguments ) Noooo my elf would be able to see that monster coz he has infravision. Nooo you should not have killed my dwarf fighter because you did not make me roll for my saving throw. Yes, I would have been able to leap several feet in the air while drinking a potion and drawing my dager as I spin around to face the Orc... Ahhhh great days, great days lol

Actually, I DO miss AD&D :( Maybe coz im just a sad man lol

Regards

Martin, thank you for the answers to the M&M questions.

The thing about the owl, was an arcane biblical reference I read in passing. It was something along the lines of, the owl was the only bird to witness the crucifixion, therefore all the other birds envied it, so it could only come out at night or be persecuted. I can't verify it.

Martin,

Maybe this has been asked before but what are the contents of a "hot dog"?

Who invented the CD?

And what's the secret of the chia pet?

I'll always be in your debt(that's not a question and thus needs no reply) :p

hot-dog.jpg

Today’s hot dogs are made of quality lean cuts of beef and pork blended with a variety of spices and seasonings, and then fully cooked, much in the same way that sausages are made. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires that the meats used must be wholesome and high quality, just like the fresh ground meat sold in supermarkets and butcher shops. The government also requires that the meats used in the hot dog must be listed in order of predominance – so in the case of Berks franks that means the first two ingredients listed are beef and/or pork. Supermarkets also offer other varieties of hot dogs such as all beef, poultry (chicken or turkey), and cheese-flavored.

Who invented the CD?

A Dutch company named Philips (seriously).

And what's the secret of the chia pet?

Do Chia Pets have a secret?

I'm trying damn you, I'm trying! Do you think it's easy sitting around and thinking up goofy shit to ask you about all day?

Wait, that one's too easy.

I'll have to get back to ya.

Thank you, Litany, for giving me something to do.

Litany:

If this thread died, what would you do with your spare time?

I'd cry. A lot. Then I'd get a ham & cheese sandwich. Then I'd cry some more.

Who invented Spam, the 'foodstuff'??

Why is the Dutch football team so rubbish now??

How the hell do you keep a Tamigotchi alive??

Phil :)

How big a lump of DNA would you get if you extracted all the DNA out of one human body? Say, a 5'8'' man of average build.

This is something we used to wonder when I worked back in the blood lab all those many years ago. You can extract enough that it's visible out of a 5ml sample of blood. So from a whole person, I imagine it'd be quite a hefty amount. You can give the answer in grams if it's easier, though I would prefer it in terms of balls used in sport. i.e., football, tennis, ball, snooker ball, etc.

Only on thursdays.

Actually, in a few weeks time I will be needing quite a sizeable amount of blood and as yet I've only got one volunteer. Anyone fancy volunteering? I understand Phil lives in Surrey...

In all seriousness, can a donation be transfered from the US Red Cross?
I've donated over 13 gallons over the years and would be happy to lend a helping hand (arm) :)

I dont know, the girl starts asking for blood and everyone volunteers some!

What i want to know - what is Litany doing with all this blood? ;)

Phil
