I found this book today at library and picked it up. It seems like a love story or fantasy more than sci-fi. Do you think this is good novel for men or is it mainly for women? I do not mind reading about love and that kind of thing . I do not really like books like Bridge of Madison County or those types but I like science fiction.

I've seen a guy or two reading it.....though I think the movie is more of a chick-flick

I cannot get into this book. Actually I think it is pretty bad. Maybe it is okay for love story but some naked grown man hanging around with little girl is pretty sick to me.

I loved this book if I'm honest - I cried like a baby when I first read it, although on reading a second time I didn't cry??? Maybe I was trying too hard to remember it so missed the part which affected me first time.

Anyway, I have the DVD sat here - unopened - which has been like that for a week cos I loved the book so much and I'm really worried that the film won't live up to my expectations and therefore spoil the book for me.

Has anybody seen the film that enjoyed the book? What are your honest opinions?

i've read this and enjoyed it.

i didn't appreciate the hardships of time travelling until the later parts of the novel. the complications of building and having a "normal" family...

I haven't read the book but saw the movie and thought it was so so.
