Amazing, yes. I know. And humble! :D

I have spent the last month watching MotoKid, and his wicked ways. I am preparing to snatch the pebble from his hand and step out of my role as 'grasshopper'!

@robert and leckert,

Hey
I LOVEEE coffee. The novella I'm currently writing is called 'eight cups of coffee' and has the recurring theme of coffee.
LOVE it.
This morning before school i had 4 tea spoons of coffee in one cup. I desperatly needed it.
I have coffee everymorning before school.

I don't think I would even consider "tea spoons of coffee in a cup" actually coffee. Are those crystals you are simply stirring in hot water?...... (that was the closest smilie I could make to look like he's puking)

Maybe that should win your horror writting competition...

I think it would be a contender. Maybe these disolving coffee-flavored crystals turn out to be something other than disolving coffee-flavored crystals...

MotoKid,

I took today off (50 hours already this week, and I'd had enough!).

I went to Manassas and found that Bad Ass Coffee house.

Pretty good.

Coffee was good. I had the 100% Kona, black (that seemed to be their "signature" coffee). It was strong, and somewhat Starbuck-ish (though not as strong as Starbucks, which is good). I thought the taste was very good. (please keep in mind this is the same guy that heats up day-old cofffe out of the coffee maker!)

It was certainly more flavorful than your standard fare. They seem to be aiming at the "Friends" crowd. They had a couple of chess boards sitting around, and over-stuffed chairs and ottomen (ottomans?). A little cliche, maybe, but not bad. I bought a coffee mug from them because I like their logo (donkey and palm trees).

I think, depending on the location, this could do well. The one in Manassas is not too far from a "Java Rock" (another trendy coffee place) and a Starbucks, but they seem to have a pretty good base of regular customers.

I was there at around 7:00 this morning, and between the time I ordered my coffee, got it, and went out side to smoke while I drank it (that's a whole different thread!), at least three people came in whom the help knew by name (within less than 30 minutes).

Pretty cool place. We should meet there sometime.

Maybe the coffee flavored crystal water was simply being dripped into your mouth as you were strapped to a table, with a halo fixing your head so it was unable to move away. You are unable to move, yet completely conscious of everything around you, and every taste in your mouth....yet you can not stop the slow, but steady drip of coffee crystal...water....drip....drip....drip...drip...drip...drip...drip.....

ah ha ha haaaaaaa!!!!!

drip....drip...drip...drip...drip...drip.....

When you mentioned the mug, I had to ask, does anyone else like those huge round mugs? The ones that look like a soup bowl with a handle, mine are as big as my head but I love them.

leckert buddy, you rock serious dude....I'm sure it's a teensy-bit trendy...but I love the image...Did they sell some kind of crappy food-stuff too, or was it pretty hard-core into just the coffee? I don't want to get into makin' food and stuff.

I like mugs. Big ones, small ones, round ones, cylindrical ones. I have a cabinet in my kitchen with nothing but mugs in them. I guess you could say I collect them.

I am not a fan of the ones that are so insanely huge you have to hold them with two hands, though, as I usually have a Marlboro dangling from one of them.

Yeah, that's right. The picture from the other thread is me. Except I'm a little tougher looking, and maybe a bit more ruggedly handsome! :D

Well, off to the rodeo. I drew "Widowmaker" in the first round, and I don't want to be late!

They had the kind of crap you find at the Barns & Noble or Books-A-Million coffee shops. You know, croisannts, and bruoueoiugella (???) and a bunch of other crunchy-looking pastry craps that have some gay-sounding French name. (not that there's anything wrong with that!). They seemed to be pretty much "open the package and put it in the display case" kind of things. No biggie.

They had like grass skirts hanging in the windows. All the furniture (except the overstuffed chairs) were like bamboo. They definitely had the "theme" thing going. And they were playing like alternative (or pop, maybe?) rock. Stuff like Matchbox 20, or maybe Dave Matthews? Not too heavy, not too gay, but contemporary. definitely comfortable.

Widowmaker, Huh? well hold on tight, yea haw, ride'em cowboy, I wonder if they would give me a job as a rodeo announcer?
