Most of the fiction I buy, I can only get in paperback. If it's a classic I can get in hardback, then I'll get that if the price difference isn't too great. Non-fiction tends to be in hardback.

*They are too big to carry around with you
*they take too much space up
*they are overpriced
*they are hard and unfriendly
*they are ungainly to hold while reading
*and worst of all! That damn dust jacket slides all over the place!

Trade paperbacks almost always have the most pleasing appearance to me as well. Explicitly I guess they are softback but I feel they do deserve to be considered seperately.
First you've gotta tuck it under the covers and give it a goodnight kiss... tell the book how much she means to you... tell her she's beautiful, rub her spine... and then open her up and have a go!MonkeyCatcher said:...I can never get comfortable with a hard covers.. especially when I'm reading in bed.

I completely agree. I'm a "cuddle" reader, and I like to get all comfy when I'm reading. Speaking of which - my bed and book are calling my name right now...MonkeyCatcher said:I prefer paperbacks because the hard cover books are just too bulky to carry around, and I can never get comfortable with a hard covers.. especially when I'm reading in bed.
