Hardbacks look better on on bookshelves so I have a few of them.

I like paperbacks as they are easier to read in bed:p
 
I like softbound best, but if the price is right for a hardbound book I really want, I'll go for that. The main thing is I try to avoid paying retail altogether!

Retail is evil sometimes. As much as I love books, sometimes I wonder why anyone would pay such high prices for them. Bargain bins are your friend! ^_^

I'm rather attached now to the small hardcovers. Durable and easy to transport, but you usually don't find them in stores often for the books you want.
