Life in Fossil

Ihr Deutsch ist sehr gut!

Danken :) Aber Ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch . In the other words, a Basic German with a little vocabulary about mountain hiking - It's an useful tool for example, when I lose my bearings on the map or Waypoints on the Garmin .

I was in Tangier last week and the fake fossils for sale as "real" were  worthy. They were bad fakes. There is a rock, gem, and fossil show in my town in two weeks. It's going to be fun.

I am a little lost... Where is your town ?? By the way, at the end did you find any book ??
and what kind of paleo information , do you need ??

I live in a small town North of Nürnberg.

I did pick up a book. I picked up Minéraux, roches et fossiles de Méditerranée.

I want all the information!

I want all the information!
A challenge, das ist interessant !! :)
About Minéraux, roches et fossiles de Méditerranée . -- These Fossil sites are in natural parks or geologic reserves and the collecting isn't allowed ( INTERDIT means Unauthorized/Forbidden ) or sometimes it needs a Permit , it also happens when you want to collect minerals or doing a mineral prospecting, each town council has its own rules and it's necessary to respect them and besides, ask about these local permits .

Anyway, there are other sites where is allowed the fossil collecting ( in the same area that appear in the book )

- Gisement de Loupian ( miocène-helvétien ) localized in Hérault .
-Fossiles de l'Hauterivien ( Drôme Provençale )
-Fossiles de l'Hauterivien (Ardèche)
-Fossiles du Stéphanien (Gard)
-Fossiles de la région de Montpellier ---- QUISSAC ----

I want a time machine.

Side topic: Dr. Bob Bakker was supposed to be working on a book on the mammal-like reptiles (Therapsids) of the Permian. It was close to 7 years ago that I heard that.

Where's the book?

I want a time machine.
Don't worry, there are books that already are time machines !! I usually travel very often :whistling: with the Steve Brusatte 's time machine. Yes, for example yesterday I was in the Early Jurassic with Vulcanodon and then I went toward in the Late Jurassic with Mamenchisaurus ...

This book ( Big format with "3D Model" illustrations ) allows to travel and sometimes, be frightened by Dinosaurs

It's a pity that you don't understand French because there are interesting books ...

Almost all of it is in storage in the U.S.

I only have a few pieces here. Hopefully more by Monday. ;)

Remind me again who or what Larousse is?

This summer I'm going to be going to the Semipalatinsk Test Site and with any luck coming back with a piece or two of black glass from there.
