Litany and abecedarian

Sparky, that's a funny hat!

Litany, I love your work. Thank you for sharing those pictures.

Several decades ago when I was young and stupid, I crocheted a lewd piece of attire for my husband as a joke. :D

My daughter has plans to make this God Save the Queen hat from Pretty in Punked:

And just now, she's casting on for this London Calling sweater from Stitch 'N Bitch Nation:

You know you have to show a pic, right :p

Abc, those are cute patterns! I see your daughter likes British themes.

Impalpable, unfortunately I don’t have a picture of the stupid thing I crocheted and it is long gone now.:)

Several of my kids are into all things British..As part of their Independence Day festivities, they staged a huge water balloon fight in the front yard..They divided into teams and re-fought the American Revolution... this time Britain ruled:lol:

It would be well over a grand, probably nearer to two if I sat down and worked it out. Those bloody hexagons sent me potty and I used posh yarn too. I've deliberately never worked out how much money I spent on it all.

Of course, if I did sell it I would be immediately hunted down and murdered by the angry copyright police.

Do you have any idea how many hours went into making this afghan? I'm just curious..It really is a work of art, you know.

Each hexagon took mebbe half an hour, and there are 295 of them I think, so that's just shy of 150 hours. I don't know how long it took to iron them all, sew them together and work the border. Days had started to melt into each other by that point.

I didn't make it all in one go though. I only knuckled down and got it finished when I had all the hexagons done. It was 2-3 years in total and I bought the yarn as I went along.

I'm afraid I'd be using lots of bad words during the finishing stage. You must have plenty of patience and a lot of determination. I've seen quilts that are similar..with thousands of tiny hexagons...boggles my tiny brain to contemplate!

I can't imagine the amount of patience you must have, either. I'm crocheting a blanket with zig zags and it is taking me forever
