Litany and abecedarian

I can't imagine the amount of patience you must have, either. I'm crocheting a blanket with zig zags and it is taking me forever

I think I'm "Ripple-Challenged!" I get lost in the hills and valleys...but there are so many design possibilites with ripples; I need to figure it out.

It's all about counting, which sort of sucks actually but once you get about 10 rows in you can tell where the peaks and valleys go. I have a problem with my sides getting wider though. I had to undo this blanket and start again :banghead6mx:

Counting is my main problem with crochet. I get lost and have to use stitch markers instead. I rarely end up with the right number of stitches when I'm working increases in things like amigurumi and have to fudge it on the next round.

For things getting wider, again I use stitch markers. I stick them in the top of the turning chain to make sure I hit the right stitch on the way back. I just can't read crochet stitches the way I can knitting.

I tried ordinary stitchmarkers. I'm convinced they're of the devil. They fool me into thinking their on properly, then jump off when I'm not looking. I use large safety pins now. Ooooh, which reminds me, I should check my hook bag and make sure the pins are still there...

Orphaned earings mght work too...you know, the old fashioned wires that hold the dangly things.

Is 'dangly' a real word?
