Why don't you just break up with the guy and bag Stewart?

Does anyone think long distance can work. Have they had a long distance before.

I've been in one, off and on (mostly on) for going on 4 years.

If I didn't believe in myself first, it wouldn't have lasted this long.

You can PM me if you'd like to discuss it further.

I've been in a long distance relationship for 2 years now and it is hard, it's also a long and boring drive up the M40, but it could be worse, it could be glasgow! :p

My husband and I were long distance (1500 miles, and no, I'm not converting that to kilometers ;) ) for a few years before we eventually married. What's the difference between 4 miles and four thousand miles? If you can't trust him now, then you won't be able to trust him when you're half a world away. We wrote all the time, called when we could afford it, missed each other like crazy, and just basically trusted each other. Trust is just a part of the relationship, and you either have it or you don't. I wish I could be more encouraging. Long distance worked for us, but I know it doesn't work for everyone. It isn't easy, that's for sure.

Thank you for some serious replies. The problem is that it is the start of the relationship. When i met him i knew where he lived. its been 4 months so far and i do trust myself a lot because i know how i feel, but he is being a typical man and wont discuss his feelings! So im not sure how serious he is. Iv spent some time with him at his home and met some of his friends and an ex girlfriend.
Lol, id rather travel to Northampton than Glasgow :D and im sure Stewart would never dream of going with someone from Edinburgh, unless it was a dare! :)
Oh and i am a miles rather than kilometers person so no bother there.

I spent a lot of time on the other side of the globe from wife without issues. Trust must go with a relationship for it to work. I believe the farthest was when I was in Fremantle & she was still in California.

I've had a couple of long distance relationships. As a fairly paranoid and untrusting person, it was my attitude that eventually caused the death of them. If you're gonna have them, you have to trust, definitely.

I've been in two long distance relationships. In both cases i ended up breaking up with the girl, but not because of trust issues. Its just that when you spend so much time apart it dont really feel like a relationship anymore. I still have a lot of contact with the last girl though and we might just start over.

Im 21 he is 23. Im a student and he has graduated a couple of years ago, so hes a working man, if you can call him that :D

Whats wrong with students. So we dont work, we drink more than the average person and we are over half the population of Edinburgh...Im sure you were a student once upon a time....a long long time ago...:)

And you don't wash!

we are over half the population of Edinburgh

The other half is an amalgam of English and Americans.

Im sure you were a student once upon a time....a long long time ago...:)

With a pint on the table, I was a student of life. ;)

Lol why would we smell! Hehe! We do have showers. But i agree the other half is English and lots of tourists.
I need to go and brave the city now. I got caught up in all the shit this morning and never made it all the way to work so just turned back lol.

Yes, it's not a sound you're familiar with. Maybe you'd have preferred it if I shouted GARDY-LOO or GARDEZ-L'EAU! ;)
