Overrated Books

The Great Gatsby. Just not that great. I mention that one every time the topic comes up.
Brave New World. Since we're pretty much living in The Future, I fail to see what the big deal about that book is/was since much of the stuff that was shocking to someone back then is perfectly normal today.
And 50 Shades of Grey. Poorly written and did not titillate or excite despite it being "porn".

I don't think Harry Potter was an overrated book. I think it was the best series in magical books. Just bear the Philosopher's Stone for first 40 pages. Then the story gets interesting with the advent of Hagrid. From there the description of Hogwarts, the quidditch and the battle with Voldemort's slave is very exciting in itself. Get ahead and just give it a few more time. I know you will find it perhaps the best novel you have ever read. Just go for it once more!!
