I wouldn't be surprised if there has been at some point. Of course, then there's also the question of whether terrestrial life started on Mars and migrated here via meteors, or the other way around...

For that matter, why would any alien intelligence bother contacting us?
 
If movies have taught me anything it is because of our women, our water, our natural resources, enslave us, and/or to colonize Earth.

I do, I DO! I used to play a ton more on folks than I do today, but I'm still quite good at coming up with ideas.
