yes, a little strap on the hands never killed any kids. they do that in the catholic schools here (or, at least they did - not sure if they still do) and it works just fine. my husband went to a catholic school and he survived the ruler slap on his hands

i think it's important to understand there are varying degrees to which one can be "caned" or however you want to clarify it.

bottom line is: if you don't want as ass-whuppin then don't misbehave
 
i'm not sure where you're from, dsj, but in north america we are sick of what our lenient justice system essentially allows to happen.
in canada, we repeatedly see sex offenders and drug traffickers get off early from their sentences, then go on to repeat the offence again and again. many drug traffickers don't even get prosecuted, or they get off without jail time. we see sexual offenders allowed to move back into family communities and their identities are witheld from the public in order to protect their privacy- so we can have some rapistor child molester living right next door to us and not even know it.
we are frustrated with the lax system of dealing with criminals and would like to see something serious done about it, because obviously what is being done now isn't working.

Why don't you live in a country with relaxed law and order? It makes the standard and meaning of life worthless.Then you would understand.

I've travelled all round the world and seen loads of different attitudes to different things. I feel happy to believe that caning, for example, shuld be warranted.

Did you get caned recently? Is that what it is?

I was wondering the same thing. Then it occured to me that he could probably USE a good caning.

well, it was kind of a serious question. i had many things i wanted to say but i was worried all of them would get me thrown off.
 
You're not thrown off that easily, especially when you're an contributing member, which you are.

I posted twice at least in this thread about how the justice system in my city isn't working too well. Just thought I'd share this ironic update. Only a couple hours after I got off work yesterday my store got held up and the guy scared the daylights out of the workers and even had the one in a headlock before he was stopped.

Nice, huh?
