Sound of...

It's raining here. I love that sound so much. There is a little thunder too! It smells so good, like the ocean.

What is your favorite sound and why? :)

The toilet flushing, for pretty much all the same reasons you mentioned. :D

RaVeN
(had to get this thread rolling somehow Master :p )

I can't believe your toilet smells anywhere close to good!

And you need more magazines in there! :D

You mentioned the ocean - I love the sound of the Northsea. I go to the beach quite often and I will never grow tired of that sight, sound and smell.

But rain is also very nice, especially late at night, when you've just crawled into bed.

Cheers

Agreed.

Odd, I didn't notice the pages of the National Geograhic stuck together until you left.

So, essentially, RaVeN, there is not one actual sound that you can think of that you like?

Cheers, Martin

Was that a prod I just felt?

There are too many enjoyable sounds to pick out a favorite. Many would be wiped clean from here as soon as I listed them.

The first cry of a newborn baby.
Children laughing at a playground.
Bacon sizzling on a skillet.
A dogs teeth claking together when it tries to bite bubbles.
The jailer saying, your free to go.
The breaktime buzzer at work.
The sound of the boards after a good bodycheck at a hockey game.

Shall I go on?

Gotta love reverse psychology!

And yes, you can go on, that's what this thread's about!

Cheers, Martin

You forget, I'm quite aware of your methods by now and knew what you were doing. :D

I'll just add 1 more.

The sound...............of silence

RaVeN

I didn't forget, I just knew it would work.

The sound of silence, a very good one.

Anyone else?

Cheers, Martin

The smell of a fresh book, newly explored...The sound of a page turning

The sound of a brook streaming through the rocks with only trees in sight. The smell of fresh water, sweet with the suns first light.

But ultimately the scent of a woman you care about snug in your arms. The scent of her hair seems to linger for days forward in your nose. I find it a rather pleasant aphrodiziac....only to be compared to by the sound of that same girl giving a content sigh while in your arms that inevitably squeeze her tighter as the sound is absorbed. In those moments you seem to fall into each other and those smells and sounds become one giant, unending, emotion that you never want to let go of.

That's my favorite :)

Ooh, I've gone all wibbly.

The sound of rain hitting the window as I'm falling asleep is the best sound for me. Also big waves crashing against bigger rocks. And the chocolatey rich voice of my old Nigerian chemistry teacher. Mmmm.

Weren't you the guy that posted this thread?

Man, you are so in love!

Cheers

Au contraire....I am not necessarily in love ....just in the hope of it. Always been rather prevalent about romanticizing everything ;)

What will happen with the girl you are referring to is yet to be seen. Time will tell!

I'm omniscient, man.

You don't have to tell me anything. Oh, and bring clean underwear on that first date - you'll need it.

Cheers

Now I know I've only been here a couple of weeks, but after 150 posts talking with you guys I had hoped to be referred to as more than "the guy" .

Hey, I may be omniscient, but even I can't know everything!

Who am I talking to, again?

Cheers

Yeah, yeah. Of course, the sound of rain on a late October morning (between 11 pm and 7 am), provided there's company around to hear it, is quite nice.
I also like the muffled quality of sounds during a night snowstorm.
And, there are some peoples' voices which I find quite mesmerizing and pleasant, and the laughter of a couple of young ladies I know.

My favorites:

Rain, of course. I love to curl up and read when it rains.
The sound of my husband's laugh. :)
The sound of the air rushing past, the roar of the engine and the lap of the waves as we fly across the lake on our boat.
The ocean.
