Sound of...

any sound becomes your favorite sound if you hear it over and over and over again.

You mean, like 4103 times?

Though someone else might not, I dissgree. :D

RaVeN

Martin, from someone whose job it is to moderate, that sounds a bit extreme. Don't you think? :confused:

RaVeN

I like the buzz in my ears when I've just gotten home to complete silence after going to a gig. It's one loud-assed buzz.

RaVeN - mind the :p

And lies, you're absolutely right! Rock Werchter (something you should be familiar with) usually being one of those gigs. Not this year, though. :(

Cheers

My sister's there at the moment. I've never been though... Too expensive and not really my kind of thing.

It's raining here. I love that sound so much. There is a little thunder too! It smells so good, like the ocean.

What is your favorite sound and why? :)
the purr of my cat when i rub him, i just love it. its quite relaxing to hear it too. :)

There's something comforting about the background whirring of my PC fans. Aside from that, the old rain-when-you're-in-the-warm, and also the sound of a bath running when I'm lying in bed, I think it comforted me when I was younger because it showed that my parents were both in the house, so it made me feel safe. (as they are both doctors, they are called out at all times of the night.)

You all do seem to like the rain - move here with me. All it does is rain. You lot would be in heaven.

My favourite sound is when I'm in bed in the morning and I hear the back door locking as everyone else leaves the house. Aaah peace. Wonderful :)

The sound of crackling logs in a fireplace. Unfortunately, I live in Houston, and have no fireplace, as they could only be lit twice a year.

The sound of my big kitty purring while she lays on my neck as I go to sleep....the sound of the wind at night when my windows are open....the sound of rain on a tin roof at night....the sound of thunder (especially the low, rumbling kind)....

The smell of autumn air....the smell of daffodils in the early spring....the smell of rain, especially in the spring and autumn....the smell of my kitties heads....the smell of West End dining hall from my previous campus....

The chirping of the birds at 5:00 am in a clear morning;
The singing of the piano;
The smiling on the violin;
the sound of flute coveying the missing of someone in the winds far from the scottland;

The chewing nuts sound of a squirrel;
The splashes of the waves against the rocks;
The splattering of a spring in the deep forest;
The clinking bell of a camel in the sunsetting desert;
The clash of a glass cup onto the floor in a quiet room;
and ....
.....
....
and my laughter especially when i am very happy :p

oh, the passionate sound of latin music, that kinda for dancing;

i like it when skunks fight, they make this cute noise that sounds almost exactly like little girls laughin, its adorable. i also like the sound of cellos, i think its the best sounding instrument.

I know, there is something relaxing about imagining the sounds that others find beautiful. Quite a relaxing and peaceful thread. :)

Sound of the underground...

Hehe, you want to know what sound I like? I like the sound of... you! ;) :p

Given this some thought, so here are my three:

My daughter's laugh.

The, um, "throes of passion"

And the disembodied female voice on the Northern Line of the London Underground when it announces the next stop is "Goodge Street." I've never stopped at Goodge Street, but I love the way the voice says it.
