To my great shame, I must admit, I bought one of those awful touristy shirts with "Mind the Gap" on it.

The greatest problem with America, and there are so many, is there is too much "Watch your step" and never enough "Mind the gap."

Absolutely. I make a point of buying a piece of pointless tat wherever I go; I don't keep them on display or anything, but it's good to get them out to laugh at now and again.

(BTW, the sound of my son's footsteps as he runs across the hall when I arrive home after a trip away).
