Image verification has been on since it was first introduced by vBulletin a while ago.

what does this mean?

It means you are given a picture with a sequence of numbers and letters and have to enter them to verify you are not a bot. I don't remember this when I signed up buy I think the board was still in vb2 when I joined.

Well, when you try and register somewhere, at the end it will ask you to copy a set of letters/numbers they show you into a box. This apparantly is proof that you are a real human being. Better?

They do use it here - if you log out and take a quick look at the second registration page you'll see it at the bottom. But don't re-register - that's naughty.

In my local pub in the North East I know what somebody means when they call someone else a bot (or a botter, or botboy etc). Biut what does it mean in this context?
