Tree Huggers

No it's not, Libra. Faux + Fox are not the thing. Fox is the best and least biased news outlet available.

Thanks for the clearing up;)

He [-]spammed[/-] posted this message on at least three other message boards. All the other boards had pretty much the same reaction.

You counting this one? And yes, he does have access to this area.

Yes. I am tempted to register there so I can reply since that seems to be the only forum on which he was actively replying to this thread.

Re: Stewart's link. 'unjust' treatment? Why? Because people challenge him and he can't defend his position?

Aquablue, if you're reading this then put aside the novels for a while and go read Collapse by Jared Diamond then report back.

Ok,hating to see our friend here getting all the blame(if a good bit is deserved) i wanted to find a positive side to his statement(well...!).
It might simply be in the terme "tree huggers" ,the ridicule of it maybe drove AB to post this thread ,we all found so short-sighted.
I would call "tree huggers" the wrong type of ecologist, the one also short sighted who fight wrongly for a good cause.
Like the humanitarian bringing truck-load of electric water pompe in villages where there no power.
In our days and age Ecologie is a burning matter that concerne us all but most of the time taken ostage by the wrong type of people.I love hippies, and also i don't have long hair and a combi van ,i feel very close to them,But i would feel better if ecologiste were more of a 3-pieces-suit category, you know, the serious ones. And if the question ask were the good ones.
Like is there a serious alternative to nuclear power?
Please no sun and wind, because the day we can supply New york or London with those is not tomorrow.
In the years to come we are going to have to really act, because China and new powers will be needing hugh amont of power and one of the imediate cheap solution will be liquify coal,as well of petrol plants.
We need to change certain concept deep-rooted in us, like nuclear is scarry but it still stand as the cleanest source of power we have.A paradox !

I would like to hear what is your opinion on the all thing, and specialy the one of Spark, for he's got his paw's in it all the time.

I have, as some of you know, posted this same thread on other boards and I have been slammed (severely) by everyone. So, since so very many are so against my viewpoint, I am putting on the brakes, the wise old fart that I am, and reevaluating my position. I'm going to chill-out a little and re-read your replies and see where I am in error. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that I need to adapt a better perspective on issues- like the one I presented on this thread.

Thanks for your understanding. Peace.

It was possibly somewhere around the point where you advocated forced labour camps so you can have cheap petrol. I could be wrong though. It's possible it was when you called anyone who cares about the planet they live on a fanatic. Or maybe it was your referring to increased fuel prices as your country's plight, because we all know no one's suffering like you poor Americans. It's simply horrific the way the rest of world is drinking their free petrol at state sponsored cocktail parties with nary a thought for your long-suffering countrymen.

I don't really have time to analyse the whole thread right now though, I have trees that need hugging.

Are those of us who don't live in the good old US of A allowed an opinion in this, since Aquablue only seems concerned with "our" nation?

Of course not. We don't care what you think.

~~sticks tongue out at Sparky~~

Unfortunately, that's the way it comes across. And unfortunately, that's the impression that a lot of people outside the US have of the US in general.

Now obviously that's not the case, but it can't half look like it times, not least because of White House policy.

BTW, Litany's analysis is spot on, for my money.

I'm about 99% sure he was kidding...
