Very Cool Pic ..

The nature pics you guys showed were fantastic. To me, more beautiful than anyone could do with a stroke of the brush.

Martin, Edvard Munch is one of my fav artists too. He was SO ahead of his time and pretty much kicked off the expressionist movment.

Dali is pretty good :) They have a nice collection of some of his works in Tate Modern in London.

Dali was stoned out of his mind 90% of the time - hence the wacky art.

In any case, I'm a huge fan of M. C. Escher (and not just because he happens to be dutch).

Know him?

Stuff like this:

And this:

And this:

Etcetera...

Cheers, Martin

Yeah, I know him :) very good stuff!

Dali built this really great house ( in Spain of coarse ) ITS STRANGE. It has doors that open to nowhere. Stars that just lead into walls. Odd colours. Rooms with no walls. Maze like passages. Very strange :)

I love Vincent Van Gogh's arts especially Starry Night. Also the Sunflower as well. I forget the artist's name who paint 'The Kiss'. Really cool.

I'm not sure but I think I have one of his prints on my den wall. The style looks very much the same and there's an MCE in the left hand corner.

I don't know it's name but to describe it, there's a circle of lizards/dragons(?) crawling out of a puzzle and back into it again. I'm sure you'd recognize it if you saw it.

Yeah, I know it. That is definitely Escher.

This one:

Am I right, or am I right? That's Escher for 'ya, letting one shape melt into something completely different.

Great talent!

Reptiles is one of my favourite pieces of Escher's works, others being Drawing Hands, Other Worlds, House of Stairs and Relativity. I used to have several of his prints on my wall in halls. Dali is another Artist whose works I admire :)

They both have their own particular (and very defining) style, and that's what's great about 'em.

Ha!! I got that last one as a jigsaw for my mum - she started it on Monday and its still going :D

That's nothing. When my girlfriend was ill she did a 9000-piece jigsaw puzzle - took her a couple of months, if I remember correctly.

Yep, you are right Martin, that's the one.

Ya know, I've had that print hanging on one wall or another of mine since before you were even born  . The sad part is, I've looked at it every one of those days and never even knew the artist's name until you posted it.

Thanks though for pointing him out to me. I really liked the other pics of his you posted and I can see why he's such a popular artist.
