You should really look up some old McGarrigles albums - especially Kate and Anna McGarrigle, Dancer with Bruised Knees and Matapedia. Kate McGarrigle died recently, sad to say.

Kate and Loudon Wainwright III were married for a while, hence Rufus Wainwright (and his sister Martha, who's pretty good too).

I will look up her mom and aunt though. You should look into Mary Black and Dolores Keane..and Iris Dement and Kathy Mattea..and Jay Unger..oh, and Jerry Douglas-whoever he plays dobro for, they all sound amazing. Usually he's teamed with Allison Krauss.
