I get up around 5:15am. Gotta get up, check the forum while I breakfast (might have to stop as the rainbow/wabbit posts are making me ill), shower, make lunches for my husband and myself, take care of the cats, make my husband breakfast, wake him up, take care of any around-the-house responsiblities and head out the door to work. I don't sleep in on the weekends, since it makes it that much harder to get up on Monday morning.

I wake up at 4pm to be at work at 6pm for my awesome 13 hour shift! ROCK ON!

I'm going to hope you're being sarcastic. 13 hours, ugh. And I hate being awake at night...I'm definitely a morning person.

Same here, Tig. I used to only sleep until 7am, the latest was about 8am. I've not slept past 6am for a long time now.

I just have a problem stayin' asleep after the sun comes up. I absolutely LOVE to get up before dawn, and go sit outside with a cup of coffee and a good book.

Make that a blueberry tea, and I'll be outside with ya. Ah, morning solitude is absolute bliss. I'm so glad I get up a few hours before my husband, so I have a bit of time to myself to just read and relax before the day begins.

You're on! :)

Ron works nights, and as much as I hate sleeping alone Sunday - Wednesday, I must admit I sure do enjoy the quiet mornings.

Don, my husband, used to have to work nights. I feel your pain, I always hated sleeping alone. Of course, with his new schedule, the only time we really have together is when we're asleep.

Yeah, that would be tough. At least with the way things are now, I only see him for an hour or two in the evening Monday - Wednesday but, he only works four days a week, so Thrusday - Sunday evening he's all mine. :)

Ahh.. yes. Those early morning quiet moments are the best. I usually am up by 7:00 on the weekends. It may not seem that early, except that everyone else in the house tends to sleep in until 9:00 or later. I wish I could get up an hour or two earlier, but I can never bring myself to leave the comfort of my warm bed quite that early.

I had a 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM shift several years ago and thought it was neat to be coming home from work when the sun was coming up and everyone else was on their way to work. The novelty wore off after a week or two.

I really don't have a set time for getting out of bed (though it's rarely after 7:30) because my job sometimes dictates working until 1:00 am or getting up at 4:30 am. Sometimes I can only sleep for 3 or 4 hours, sometimes I can sleep all day (though I don't, at least since I quit drinking).

Anyway, you night-shifters might enjoy a book called A Day in the Night of America by Kevin Coyne (if memory serves me). It's all about people who work during the wee hours, and how different that world is from the regular daylight one.

I said 6am, but only because it's summer. I have to be up by 6:30 for work, but I wake up around 5am in the summer time. The rest of the year, if my alarm doesn't go off I don't get up until the sun wakes me up.

We're quite happy to go to bed at 8:00am and then sleep til mid afternoon  We did this a lot when we were at uni (only when we didn't have lectures obviously :D )

I usually get up after 7am for work. At the weekend I get up at 9am through watched tv (if there are good programmes) at late nights!!
