what's everyone up to today?

well, i woke up somewhat late and a little bit on the wrong side, so i have a bit of a knot in my face i plan on working out..maybe a beer by the pool later will help ease it out... :D .....however, in the meantime, i am getting geared up to go window washing and putter around the inn.....

I'm trying to get a cat out of a really big tree. He has been up there for over 48 hours and the nasty crows keep attacking him. I've called animal control, and everyone else in town but no one will help get him down. I tried to climb up to him but he is up in the dead tip top of the cedar tree and my hubby(home on leave) and Dad assure me I can't climb that high with out breaking it and falling. So I've left out some food for him, keep calling to him and watching with bino's to see if he's making any progress down.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Well, one of my other sons got Sploosh out of the couch..Sploosh got her name from the book/movie Holes..remember the antique peach preserves?? That was named Sploosh...

Dds means dear/darling daughters
ds-dear/darling son

I'm about to go back into town to take one of my dds to play with the kids my older dd is babysitting, and to drop off allergy meds for another dd who's babysitting some kids with an indoor cat..

We're supposed to have some potentially nasty weather over the next couple of days-severe thunderstorms with a chance of tornados..And this weekend is our annual homeschooling convention. Might be a good time to add more minutes to my cell phone!

The Fire brigade around here are all volunteers. I don't know if they'd want to be called to rescue an animal. I live out in the county, so I doubt they'd be very happy if I made a call like that. Animal control is spotty out here too. In town there's a dogcatcher, and in Wichita Animal Control would be right there, but out here, I think we're on our own unless an animal is dangerous, or would make good press if they came out and rescued...

We live in Crazy Cat Country. I guess it's only in the movies that the firemen come out and rescue the kitty in the tree. I did email a picture to our locale newspaper showing how high up he is and hoping they would do a little story but they didn't respond, they probably think I'm a nut.

Crazy Cat Country? Sounds like my kind of town. :D

I'm guessing it isn't your cat, Ronny. Any idea who it belongs to? And any chance you could post your picture up here?!

I can't seem to post pictures on this forum, I could email it if you want. No he isn't my cat and I have no idea who he belongs to. The tree he's in is in a dense wooded area on the hill under me, I can see him perfectly from my porch, I call him Damn It, cause he is in so much trouble.

hahahahhahahaha that is funny,(not the cat) the name. is he still up there? we should organize a sit in at your local fire dept to get that cat down.

what have you been up too?
i have no plans today. the day stretches before me blissfully open and the house is in ok shape and all the laundry is done and so it is mine to do with as i please(and the kids please of course)

Today is my youngest daughter's 8th birthday. Abby isn't sure what she wants for her present, but I suspect we'll bring home a new bike..
This weekend is our local homeschooling convention, and she was making noises like she wants to attend that..All my kids want to go--all those books.. and then there's Miller Pads with all the cool art supplies! Who wouldn't want to to something like that?? Just once I'd love to be able to attend the convention with Donald Trump's checkbook in hand... :D

Today I have to take kids to babysitting jobs and music lessons(guitar, violin, fiddle, and mandolin), go to the store for more icing and trick candles, bake a cake, and go birthday shopping, oh, and keep Elijah the terror from having too much fun! The other day, he hosed down the entire garage: walls, Model T, box of National Geographics, Kittens, and all..Good thing he's only 4 and he's really really cute :)

I think the kitty made it out of his tree last night, he was gone this morning and all the food I left for him was eaten.
