Differences Between Men and Women?

i agree that men are easier to get along with, but i think a close female relationship is more rewarding emotionally. this is just what i have found from experience. i personally feel that i think like a man, but i wish i thought more like a woman sometimes.

yeah i know what you mean!! but sometimes i wish people would say what they really think... i mean i can't read mind, so say what you think!! :(

Men often talk to impress-the cleverer ones in subtle and intricate ways, where as women tend to show weakness and share feelings perhaps to seek affirmation. Typically more open.

It can be refreshing to be in the company of women sometmes, when you have had to put up with mens silly petty peeing contests (metaphorically), and juvenile cussing matches. May be it's more common when alot of men work together....

I prefer the company of men. More likely to speak their opinion, less likely to talk about people behind their backs and hey, have a problem with a bloke, you discuss it over a beer. Women have to invite friends around, sob a bit, be given validation and then they're off. With me (because I think like a man) I've already moved on!

I'm glad I don't think like a woman! All that time wasted...

Most of my friends are men as well. So much less stupid conversational topics. Not that I don't appreciate my girlfriends, there just aren't too many that make the cut.

Novella. Good question. I've not ever had a woman say that to me so I don't know. I think it's because not only do I think less like a woman, I act more like a man. I like beer and dirty jokes and sport and NOTHING that has to do with beauty products, children, etc. I'm not trying to generalise but you know what I am saying.

Tell me Novella, let me know what women who say they think like men and don't are like.

"So much less stupid conversational topics."

Then why is it such a commonly heard complaint that all men are so juvenile, sports & sex oriented, self absorbed neanderthals (spelling?)?

Or does that type of comment only come from a "group" of women?

I've worked with a lot of single, and or divorced women over the years. Heard this type of thing quite often.

This is a bit circular. See Stewart's post and comments about it?

My generalization generator is turned on this morning. Here are a few more:

--Men who drive black vehicles are aggressive drivers.

--Women who drive white cars are vain and are careless drivers.

--Men who drive white cars are passive and have poor lane discipline.

--Women who drive black cars are predictable drivers.

--Men who drive green cars want to play more golf.

i love men, i love how their minds work and love their bodies. i love spending time with them. but i love my female friends. i never find that conversation with them is stupid or dull. i find comfort in women. my husband is fabulous, i am very lucky. but sometimes you want someone to just listen, not fix. when i am out with the gals i can be raunchy or ladylike, or intelligent or act like a knob, and it is understood whereas, imo these variations in personality either alarm or confuse men, and often get chalked up to pms.

Why do so many women profess to "think like men" and the reverse seems not to be true?

just because the way woman think is too complicated, i think nobody can follow this stuff, men are way easier!! :D

me too, i like soccer, okay i generally pass on the beer but i go with cognac and whiskey... i like to sit in front of the tv, watch sports... i'm not a beauty product type, i think it's a waste of time, to take half an hour to put yourself in a dress what looks like a wiener!!

Why do some women claim to 'think like a man'? It's always bothered me when women make that statement.

Are we all clones that are supposed to behave and think a certain way, lest we be thought of as less womanly? If you're a woman and you think a certain way, isn't it valid to say you are thinking like a woman? Maybe it's just another variation of being a woman.

I think I feel a rant coming on - but I'll resist.

Thankyou Ell! I am a women and hence anything I do is womanly. It bothers me how much generalization as to gender behaviors there is. I'm straightforward and good at math, that doesn't make me manly; I also like to goof off and have silly conversations about nothing, that doesn't make me womanly.
