Funny, I don't recall Europeans posting on this forum about putting their kids under the age of 7 on a 10 hour flight. I fail to see why those of us who are American, should feel the need to do so.

How else do you think all the euro kids get to Disney World.

With the option of Disney Paris, I think I know which would be chosen.:whistling:

 Texas has a Disney World? I didn't think Paris Texas was that big. Next you'll be telling me Atlanta is in Georgia, not Kansas, and that Peru is a country, not a ghost town in SE Kansas. I don't know if I can't take it...

That's because the flight time to Thailand, where all the family vacations seem to go these days, is about 17 hours. 10 hours only gets you to... I dunno, Baku or something I guess.

Well, the farther I have been was to Spain and always very close to the border. Not that I don't want to travel, I do, but haven't had the opportunity yet.

That being said, you don't have to leave your own country to learn geography. Geography, like Stewart pointed out, is much more than being able to point out countries in a map. It is the study of earth's surface and of the spacial distribution of all the geographical phenomena that occurs in the surface of the earth (which includes knowlege of what goes above and beneath it too, for better understanding of said phenomena).

You'd be surprised. Florida would be a more likely destination than France, at least for Brits, regardless of the varied journey times.

That doesn't surprise me. I always assumed that Europeans would rather go to Orlando than Paris if given the choice.

The UK isn't considered part of Europe?

I don't understand the geography part of the link.

Ah. Was that in the video? Video was blocked.
Ah, my mistake. They've deleted that bit, hopefully after enough people pointed out to them that it made it clear they were just making things up. The original quote was:
In May of 2004, Gay marriage was legalized in Scandinavia.. What Happened..? Did you know... That year alone suicide rates doubled. The illegal drug rate increased 19 times.

Anyway,

They think that Scandinavia is a country. And then make up supposedly official statistics for it.

That reminds me, the other day I heard something on the radio promoting some sort of mission work in third world countries, and something was said about them having needs in 'countries like Africa and Asia.' Sigh.
