The "I had a bad day" thread

This shows maybe 2% of our property. I have lily-of-the-valley, may apple, hosta, trillium, periwinkle, and other type flowers planted here. They usually start coming up in the spring. I spent the last week and a half raking and hauling leaves so the plants can come up.:(

This is where I hauled the leaves.:D

Muggle: what about hiring someone to be your landscaping helper? One or two days per week or every other week? I'm just trying to think of ways to help you stay longer in a place you and your wife love..

Of course Muggle, it's got to be you and your wife's decision what you do, but if you still feel able to cope,if it's not too much for you both and you really don't want to move, there can be ways round it. Do you have family near-by that can give a hand sometimes? Can you not wait until you need to move and then get them to help you? (Aren't we females a bossy, organising lot!!! )
Your woods look and sound absolutely beautiful Muggle. I would love to see pictures of all those flowers in spring. Can see it's a lot of work though.

Everyone, thanks for your concern. Now is probably the time to sell as the housing market is kinda at a peak and Spring is a good time of year to put a house on the market. I planted spinach and spring onions in the vegetable garden yesterday, just in case we are still here.

sorry for hi-jacking this thread, my apologies.

Nonsense, you didn't hijack anything. This is an example of 'King of the Lousy Days"!

I will add this. If you are that reluctant to sell and move, think about the suggestions given here. But in the end y'all are the ones living with the situation, and will come up with the best solution for you. Sometimes its not feasible to depend on others to help.

Gosh I hate being realistic.

p.s. Your place is beautiful. :)

Muggle: You DO have a lovely place..just the other day my hubby was saying he'd like to move...he meant he wants to build another house though! Your place looks like someplace he'd like if it were a tad closer;)

I can give you a good deal. ;) :) And, no charge for the bears, deer (OMG, the deer), fox, squirrels, birds, etc :D We also have the rare Pileated Woodpeckers which are about 18 inches long and have a unique call that I can recognize even while in the house.

Yesterday was just a peachy day. For those who don't know, I'm looking to get into a new building, the town where I live is pretty small and it just isn't the best place opportunity wise, for our kids. Soooooo, I handed in my resignation three months ago before I had a job lined up. I did that out of courtesy and to let them know that I appreciated all that they've done for me. Any-hoo, I have an interview friday and I e-mailed the boss to let her know that I would need the morning hours of that day off for an interview. "You've already taken your two personal days." No problem, so I take the pay-dock option and the secretary tells me that I'm the only one to request that form. Now I know for a fact that out of the 32 people that I work with, that I am not the only person to ask for a day off and in their cases-get it without pay-dock. So, where does being curteous to your employer and that kind of thing get you?-out of money!. I should've called in sick to work and went to the interview-people who know of my plight are planning on doing just that. It doesn't pay to be nice. So, I'm trying to relax and let it go. I've even changed my avatar to improve things-hopefully Siddhartha will have some advice other than tossing computers and desks out the window.

Yeah, no thread-jacking here. Just sulking, moaning, and overall complaining about your work day and how miserable it was.

Thread-jacking? On this forum? Nah, never happens;)

And I'm with the wabbit - I refuse to have a bad day. It's just not good for my health and well-being:D

You're bloody cheerful today! :D

SFG Sorry you have to go thru that, but all employers are not like that. Most...Yes. And I know its not fair, but at least you have the satisfaction of holding the high moral ground. I suspect your conscience would have bothered you if you'd done differently, and I also suspect, given your um...forthright personality, you could not have pulled off a deception of that nature. Not over the long haul. So take it as a Life Lesson, and sort of a "What can you expect from a pig, but a grunt."

Hope the interview goes well. :)

That's me 'bloody cheeful'. What can I say? The sun is shining - it's darn hot but hey that's what airconditioning is for. I've just made a fresh brew. I'm sitting here listening to some oldies on sat' radio and I'm about to surprise my taste buds with a Cadbury's Flake (thanks mom for bringing some over witcha:D ). Ah, life is good. And I may just decide to reign in the m-in-law and go visit a certain someone - maybe - if she's a very good girl;)
